Introduction
FSMQC offers ISO/IEC 17025:2017 - Internal Auditor as a separate internal auditor course. Participants study the subject modules below and apply them through the selected training track. Completion of one track does not automatically award the other tracks.
Catalogue code: I06-IA. Contact FSMQC to confirm the course dates, entry requirements, delivery language and applicable assessment route.
Objectives
Trace a sample from request to report, checking method, equipment, competence and validity evidence. Prepare an audit finding with precise criteria and a planned follow-up.
Target Attendees
Laboratory managers, technical personnel and quality staff. FSMQC confirms course readiness, language and learner support needs before enrolment.
Course Outlines
Module 1. Impartiality and laboratory scope
Explain impartiality, confidentiality, agreed work and the laboratory’s defined activities. Identify pressures that may affect results and the responsibilities for maintaining reliable service.
Module 2. People, facilities and equipment
Evaluate competence and authorisation, environmental conditions, equipment suitability and metrological traceability. Explain why calibration status alone does not establish fitness for a particular measurement.
Module 3. Methods and technical records
Distinguish method verification and validation, consider sampling and handling, measurement uncertainty and reporting. Maintain enough technical detail to understand how a result was produced.
Module 4. Validity and improvement
Explain quality control, proficiency testing where appropriate, review of results and nonconforming work. Connect internal audit, complaints, corrective action and management review to reliable operation.
Methodology
FSMQC uses instructor-led explanation, guided discussion and course-specific applied practice.
A fictional laboratory result released despite an unresolved equipment suitability issue. Use an FSMQC authored, fictional case with sufficient facts and records for independent learner work.
Learning resources: Sample register, method record, equipment history, QC results and report template. Provide a learner explanation, agenda, authorised reference access, exercise instructions and feedback.
Assessment: A knowledge check and individual practical audit outputs assess planning, evidence gathering, findings, reporting and follow-up. FSMQC course completion does not confer ISO certification, registered auditor status or accreditation. The licensed reference and applicable amendments control delivery.
